Hi @ManishKumaS ,
You can start with the basics first, and you can go through the servicenow product documentation for it and developer forums.
1. ServiceNow basics (must-have foundation)
Focus on understanding how the platform works, not just clicking around.
Learn:
What tables, records, fields are
Forms vs lists
Applications & scopes
Roles and ACLs (very important)
Update Sets
Basic navigation & instance usage
2. Core configuration skills
This is where beginners should spend most of their time.
Learn:
Form configuration (add fields, sections, related lists)
List configuration & filters
UI Policies
Client Scripts (onLoad, onChange, onSubmit)
Business Rules (when & why to use them)
Basic Flow Designer
3. Scripting fundamentals
You don’t need to be a JavaScript expert—but you do need the basics.
Learn:
JavaScript fundamentals (variables, functions, loops, conditions)
Server-side vs client-side scripting
GlideRecord basics
Common APIs (gs, g_form)
4. ITSM basics
Even if you plan to specialize later.
Learn:
Incident, Problem, Change
Task tables
SLAs
Assignment & state models
Which certification should you pursue first?
It would be best if you pursue the micro-certifications at first like welcome to servicenow you can do which can introduce you to the platform and many other.
Then once you have all the necessary basic skills you can go for CSA Certification.
Thanks,
If you found my answer helpful please mark it as helful and accept the solution.

Hi @ManishKumaS
Great to see you are starting with ServiceNow, Firstly you are most welcome to the ServiceNow Ecosystem
I'd suggest you first request for a PDI (This is going to be your own Personal ServiceNow Instance)
For learning enroll in Welcome to ServiceNow Course
Then further you can refer to the CSA Certification path
All the best for your learning Journey ! :
if my response helped you, please mark it helpful & Accept it as solution 🙂
