Does anyone know of good documentation or a good webinar covering the differences in functionality before and after setting the sn_hamp.migrate_hamaudit system property to true? I understand that it audits to different tables, but I want to understand more technically what happens and, more importantly, why we should look at switching to the new audit functionality? So far what I've been able to learn is that you can't see audit results in the Core UI anymore after changing the system property to true, but I'd like to understand what the benefits are.

Hi @Claire Ashdown2,
The Australia release comes with a unified UI for HAM and Enterprise Asset Management inventory audits, psa the release notes: Unified audit record storage
In a future release the old asset audit functionality will be deprecated, but it's not announced yet.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply, . I thought Asset Audit Response was a totally separate module/application, with separate licensing. I am trying to understand the updated HAM Audit functionality.

You're correct. I updated the original post.
If you only have HAM licensed, you will just benefit from the new UI, which will only show hardware audits. The benefit comes once you use Enterprise Asset Management. It will streamline audits for both hardware and enterprise inventory under one UI.
The EAM release notes provide more details: https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/release-notes/enterprise-asset-management-rn.html
The last bullet remains unchanged. Most probably, one day all audits will be stored in the new table.
Edit: You can ask your Sales Representative or Solution Consultant to share the Australia Release slide deck for customers once it becomes available. You’ll likely find more details in there.
