Activity Set Trigger change causes already created cases to cancel - PLS HELP!

Hi,
Please help with the issue that we are facing in production. I had to change the trigger of an existing activity set from 'Combination' to 'Advanced Script'. Everything seemed to work fine. But for some reason, when for existing HR cases that are in the stage of the activity set prior to this activity set, when the evaluation happens, this altered activity set goes into error and the whole HR case gets cancelled. I had to recreate a bunch of HR cases in production, but there are around existing cases in production, Please advise how I can prevent those from cancelling. Thanks in advance.

Hi @SonaK ,
First of all, whatever changes you have done in activity set which will be worked in the new case not any existing cases.
Please create new cases in Pre Pord instance & test it. Whatever cases present in Prod it will be triggered existing Activity set condition not followed whatever you have made changed.

Hi,
Indeed, like @abirakundu23 mentioned, the changes you have made in the Lifecycle Event configuration will not have any effect on the already created cases, as they will use the previous configuration. You cannot change the flow for these cases once the flow has started.
If you want them to use the new flow, you need to cancel the active cases before the change and re-launch them.
Then they will use the new flow.

Hi. Thanks @Wessel van Enk and @abirakundu23 for your response. I understand the fact that the activity trigger condition change won't take effect on cases existing already in production. My concern is that the active existing cases are failing at the evaluation condition and leading the HR case to cancel, after I implemented the change in production. I have confirmed there is nothing wrong with the script cuz the newly created cases are working fine. Please advise why the existing cases should fail. Please advise. Thanks!

Can you check the sn_hr_le_activity_set_context table and see what the error is in the workflow?
It should give you an error message with a description.
