In HRSD, we get a lot of HR cases like payroll issues, leave requests, onboarding queries, etc.
If we assign these cases manually, it becomes difficult to manage and sometimes one person gets too much work while others are free.
So, Advanced Work Assignment (AWA) helps to solve this problem.
👉 According to me, AWA is basically a way to automatically assign cases to the right person without manual effort.
Why AWA is Used in HRSD
- Avoids manual case assignment
- Distributes work evenly among HR agents
- Reduces response time
- Prevents overloading of specific users
How I Understand It Working
When an HR case is created:
- First, it goes into a queue
- Then AWA checks:
- Which agents are available
- How much work each agent already has
- Based on that, it assigns the case to the most suitable agent
Simple Example
Let’s say we have 3 HR agents:
- Agent A → already has 5 cases
- Agent B → has 2 cases
- Agent C → has no cases
👉 Now if a new case comes, AWA will assign it to Agent C, because they are free.
Important Thing I Noticed
AWA only works properly when:
- Queue is configured correctly
- Agents are part of the assignment group
- Capacity is defined
Otherwise, cases might not get assigned.
In real-time scenarios, AWA is very useful for handling large numbers of HR cases. It ensures proper distribution of work, reduces manual effort, and helps teams manage requests more efficiently.
