HR Admin role [sn_hr_core.admin] not being granted with "admin" in Production after activating Human Resources Scoped App: Core plugin

We are going live with the Human Resources Scoped App: Core and are running into an issue.

We have activated the plugin in the Production instance.

The issue is the [sn_hr_core.admin] role is not being granted by the “admin” role, so we are locked out modules, the application scope, etc.

We did not experience this issue in DEV or TEST.

ServiceNow documentation states the [sn_hr_core.admin] role should be granted by the “admin” role.

Anyone experience this or have any idea why we're facing this issue?  Thanks!

ServiceNow support was able to resolve our issue.  However it was still strange.  The agent was able to impersonate the HR Admin user (the only user with access to the HR Admin role), and was able to grant the role to other users.  However when we impersonated that user, we were not able to do this.  We did try the cache and logging out and back in and it did not work for us.  So ultimately, odd behavior for sure.  If anyone else experiences this issue you will likely need to contact ServiceNow support.

Hi Patrick, While admin grant access of HR admin role, I hope application scope selected by Admin is "Human Resource : Core" Please mark this answer correct and helpful if this resolve your issue.

Hi Anubhav,

thanks for the response.  Part of the issue is that the user with "admin" is logged in and cannot see the "Human Resources: Core: application scope in the picker.  The admin can't even see the role in the list view of roles.

Than that is only causing issue. Even we have faced it before and after we as admin got access for HR scope we were able to give HR admin role to others. First admin need to get himself HR admin role to see HR core scope than admin can give HR admin access to others.

Please mark this as correct answer and helpful if it resolved, or mark this helpful if this help you to reach towards solution.

Thanks

@patricklatella I would recommend to flush your cache and log off then on again. I have seen similar behavior for situations where cache was not flushed and/or the admin did not log off then on again after activating the HR Core Plugin. Please try this and let us know if this addressed your issue.

Mike
