I am working on an HRSD Consultation HR Service requirement and need some guidance on the correct OOTB configuration/customization to address it.
Requirement:
Currently, when a Consultation HR case is created, the Opened for field is being defaulted to the Subject
Person.
The requirement is to remove this default behavior. There should not be an automatic default of Opened for = Subject Person.
The business requirement is that Subject Person and Opened for can be different users.
Current DEV behavior
I tested the Consultation HR Service in DEV and observed cases where:
Scenario 1:
- Opened by = Sravan
- Subject Person = Akash
- Opened for = Sravan
Scenario 2:
- Opened by = Sravan
- Subject Person = Sravan
- Opened for = Sravan
I am trying to identify where the current defaulting of Opened for from Subject Person is configured.
I have checked the HR Service configuration, but I would like to understand the recommended approach before making any changes.
Questions
- Where does the Opened for → Subject Person defaulting typically come from for the HRSD Consultation service?
- Should I check the HR Service, Record Producer, HR Case template, Client Script, Business Rule, or Flow Designer?
- Is there an OOTB configuration specifically responsible for defaulting Opened for to Subject Person?
- What is the recommended way to remove only this defaulting behavior without impacting Subject Person or Opened by?
- Are there any other areas I should verify before making the change?
I would appreciate any guidance on the correct configuration and recommended approach.
