Hi everyone,
My question is as per the topic. I've heard some rumors that Employee Center may replace Service Portal in the near future and that it will bring together both ITSM and HR functionalities to make one portal for everything.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Piotr

Hi Piotr,
I discussed the capabilities of EC with Vegard in a previous question:
https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=7aba3a52dbda7454ae03d9d96896191f
ServicePortal will not disappear but Employee Center will be available as an improved portal with a more employee centric focus. it will be available as a store download and as Markus mentioned EC will be free and EC Pro will require a licence.

Hi Julie,
Yes, to my knowledge that stands true. Just checked with a new dev instance on San Diego and that comes with both /SP and /ESC pre installed so customers have a choice.

Sorry to resurrect this discussion a third time, but we have implemented /ec and are now in the midst of standing up ITSM. I'm being told by both professional services and Service Now account managers that /sp is deprecated technology from 10+ years ago and Service Now recommends against using it. Instead going with /ec as the preferred portal for ITSM. Can
Is Service Portal now, or soon to be, deprecated/unsupported?
If so, is EC Pro inclusive in its feature set to where it is considered the successor to the Service Portal product for ITSM?
I realize this is the exact same question from 6 months and 1 year ago, but I'm currently hearing this direct from Service Now's account managers and it is causing some confusion with my vendors and staff.
Thank you for your indulgence.

Is Service Portal currently, or soon to be, considered deprecated/unsupported?
If so, is Employee Center Pro's feature set such that it is considered the successor to Service Portal, with no loss of function or ability?
I realize this question was answered six months and a year ago, but I'm currently hearing this claim direct from Service Now and it's causing some confusion among my vendors and staff.
