Lifecycle Event Activity update

Hi,

I am planning to update onboarding lifecycle event which is already using in Prod.

Do you know what will happen to the existing cases after the changes would be released?

Activities already triggered -> I think they would NOT be changed

Activities / Activity sets not triggered -> Are they triggered as the new version?

@Kohei Tominaga1 According to the support article from ServiceNow.

The changed configuration will not be picked by existing LE cases in the following situations:

  • Activity sets which are already triggered
  • Activities which are already generated
  • Activities which are already completed

Only activity sets, activities, or LE cases that have not yet triggered will use the new configurations.

Hi @Kohei Tominaga1 ,

You are thinking in the correct direction!!

Activities already triggered -> They would NOT be changed.

Activities / Activity sets not triggered -> If it's already generated but triggered won't pick up the new updated onboarding lifecycle event.

Let's understand by an example: If your parent case of onboarding HR service has been generated for an candidate and the activities are yet to be triggered, it would still pick up the old version. let's say you have updated the lifecycle event now, it won't affect anything which is in active state, generated state/triggred state. However, the new cases after the upation would pick up the new one.
