Dear Friends,
Looking for some help into ServiceNow HRSD Product, we got one requirement where business wants us to create a form – Catalog item – Record Producer - Maternity & Paternity Leave of Absence.
Can anyone please help me to understand, what process we have to follow and how design can happen.
Into which HR Table, COE we can use for these type of HR cases.
Since, we are not using HRSD for Large scale, so it would be good practice to install any plugins or we can use any existing catalog item and customize that.
I have seen, there one catalog item is using total rewards table for leave of absence.

Hello @_Samay ,
Which COE / HR Case table to choose depends on how your HR department is organized, and their processes. I would suggest you let them decide which HR table should be used for Leave of absence Cases.
You can see the list of available COEs by going to HR Administration > COE Configuration. Show this to your HR team and let them choose.
Once it is decided you can go ahead and create the actual Record Producer (Catalog Item) by going to HR Administration > HR Services > Manage HR Catalog. Select one of the categories, or create a new one. Then click Create Catalog Item and select Name, COE, Topic category and detail, and Assignment group. This will also create a corresponding HR Service automatically.
Once done you can add questions (variables) and logic to the Record Producer as needed, using the small pencil icon shown above.
Here are some links:
- Create an HR catalog item
- Edit the record producer for an HR catalog item
- A video tutorial for the above process
If your HR team already has an existing Record Producer for Leave of absence, and the process for Maternity & Paternity Leave is very similar and requires no different questions and is fulfilled by the same HR assignment group, then you could of course just add a new option to this existing item. Again, you should consult with your HR team and get their input.
Regards,
Robert
