It's common to encounter situations where there's a lack of understanding about the types of data consuming your ServiceNow Platform's database space and the strategies or actions needed for specific tables and their growth. The Data Management console addresses these challenges by providing a clear visualization of where and how the database is expanding. By leveraging this tool, you can analyze the data to determine if growth can be mitigated or managed by implementing data policies and strategies.
Data Management Console by navigating to All>System Data Management>Data Management Console.
Role required -> Admin.
Benefits of Data Management Console:
1. Visualize a summary of primary storage used on your instance and monitor data usage over time
2. Determine which tables are consuming the major amount of storage on your instance
3. Manage the growth of data on your instance directly from the Data Management Console
The Data Management capabilities allow you to,
- Control the growth of data within your instance through the implementation of data management policies.
- Define and access a set of rules for a table using a data management policy.
- Additionally, you can visualize a summary of storage consumption on your instance. To effectively manage data growth, you can archive and clean table data as needed.
