What is Employee Journey Management?

 

Improving the employee experience is needed more than ever before in today competitive environment. Every employee has their own unique journeys like transferring between departments, reselling, promotions and so on within their organization. Employee journeys should be supported within the platform that connects all the required departments like IT, HR and workplace services.

 

Employee Journey management integrates HRSD features with other applications to enable employees manage their journeys. Below are the two key applications and can be requested from ServiceNow Store  

  • Journey designer is the main application for employee journey management that enables employees to initiate and manager their journeys and drive employee engagement & productivity. 
  • Journey Accelerator is used to create templates for plans and to-do tasks. Journey admins are responsible to create journey templates and managers can use them to create and publish journeys for employees.

 

Employee Journeys can be configured using Lifecycle events and/or Journey Accelerator paths. You can leverage Journey designer admin console to build a journey using guided setup. For additional details: Refer to Employee Journey Management

Recommendations

  • If an older version of Journey Accelerator is already installed, it is recommended to allow Journey designer to install the current version of Journey Accelerator
  • If you have not installed Journey Accelerator, it is recommended to install Journey designer straight as it includes Journey Accelerator
  • You need to be on Employee center pro to leverage Journey designer
  • A Journey that contains lifecycle event must have associated HR service with Journey fulfillment type.
  • Journey users must have a HR profile
