What do you create?
I have created hands-on project-based training turning certified-but-inexperienced developers into confident, job-ready professionals. Through AdvanceNow, I offer the App Dev Project to RiseUp graduates giving them an opportunity to build real ServiceNow applications that demonstrate platform competency beyond certifications. I have also created, the SNPDG (ServiceNow Professional Development Group) Discord community of 1000+ members providing the accountability, peer collaboration, study sessions and project resources that bridge the gap between training completion and employment. Find the SNPDG community at https://discord.gg/VjAMkTxfAD.
How did you get that started?
I started this work out of necessity as a NextGen/RiseUp graduate with zero tech background (I was a waitress and customer service rep), I spent 14 months after program completion trying to land my first ServiceNow role. The certifications weren't enough; every final-round interview ended with "you have impressive technical knowledge, but we're moving forward with someone more experienced." So I created what I needed: I gathered other struggling graduates into a Discord server, organized study groups, and hosted collaborative project-building sessions where we developed applications in our PDIs, building the experience employers demanded. Four folks from those early Discord project sessions landed roles, and I realized this experience-building approach was the missing piece between RiseUp graduation and employment.
Why do you keep sharing?
I keep sharing because I want to help others learn about ServiceNow, I keep sharing to prove the stigma against bootcamp grads/reskillers wrong, I keep sharing to represent for minorities that may not see people that look like them in these spaces. As a 2x MVP (2025, 2026) and 2024 Rising Star who started as a career-switching waitress, I'm proof that accessible hands-on training and authentic community support can turn anyone into platform professionals who contribute real value to the ServiceNow ecosystem.
