Well, I have finally recovered from K16. I think. Yeah, pretty sure. Wow, what a ride!
Honestly, I didn't think it could get any busier than last year. K15 had been really busy!
So, what did I do?
Saturday, May 14th thru Monday May 16th
Several us from Accenture flew in on Saturday, as we would be teaching or assisting with pre-conference training. A lot of us had not seen each other for a year. For others it was their first time to be at Knowledge and to meet everyone.
I had been asked to teach a Helsinki Application Creation class, and my secondary would be Terri Welch (Accenture, terri.welch). Everyone met Saturday afternoon to do a meet-and-greet, and to receive last-minute instructions. Sunday morning, bright-and-early we started. It was a great class. We had around 40 people for two days. Needless to say we covered a LOT of material. The ServiceNow Application Creation Training team did a great job with the materials and logistics. We had all been preparing for the class for a couple of months; it was fun presenting at last! We finished Monday evening.
Tuesday, May 17th
Viewed the opening ceremony: huge, amazing, so many people, and everybody was there for ServiceNow!
(Heading out from breakfast to the opening ceremony of the conference, wow!)
That day, I had my first of two scheduled MVP Table Topics lunch sessions. My topic:
17TA05 - Debugging Server-Side Script
An opportunity to discuss the available approaches and best practices when debugging Script Includes, Workflows, Scheduled Jobs, etc.
I was surprised when I found I had a full table! What more could you ask? Great food (ServiceNow fed us), great people, and discussion of an interesting topic! Several of us hung around after the session was officially over just to talk about the subject further.
That evening the ServiceNow Community team invited several of us to attend an MVP dinner. More great food, great conversation, and great people! I think this was one of my favorite moments during this year's session.
Wednesday, May 18th.
This day I presided over my second Table Topics session:
18TA08 - Development Process in ServiceNow
An opportunity to discuss process flow best practices (requirements, prototyping, design, development, unit testing), and how they may be applied to ServiceNow.
Again, a full table! It was interesting to hear how others were tackling SDLC, and the solutions they had arrived at. It was another great discussion! Oh, and ServiceNow fed us again!
I spent the rest of the day helping the sales team, and did my stint at the Accenture booth.
Thursday, May 19th!
CreatorCon, CreatorCon, CreatorCon! The thing that Mark Amann (mamann) and I had been preparing for since January.
Our topic: Advanced GlideRecord Scripting!
Shortly before Knowledge started, Mark and I were informed that our Friday session had filled up, and would be we both be available to do a Thursday session? Sure!
Mark and I went up after lunch and helped out with Mitch Stutler (mitchstutler), and Brad Tilton's (b-rad) session:
From Jelly to AngularJS - Mitch Stutler and Brad Tilton
Their Friday session had filled up as well, and so they were asked to do a Thursday class. It was a huge success!
Mark and I then headed over to our room. We had a great crowd as well!
19CD08 - Advanced GlideRecord Scripting (repeat 1 of 2)
Friday, May 20th
Sure enough we had a full session. A huge room packed out! Amazing!
20CA05 - Advanced GlideRecord Scripting (repeat 2 of 2)
Right after the session I ran off to the airport, and slept the entire flight home to Dallas!
I sure enjoyed meeting so many new faces, and renewing acquaintances from last year.
If you have never been to Knowledge; I can't recommend it enough. With all of the pre-conference training, the lab and breakout sessions, the conference speakers, free certification exams, and then the gravy on top: CreatorCon! It is a ServiceNow experience that just can't be beat! I never leave disappointed.
I hope to see you next year in Orlando for Knowledge 17!

P.S. ServiceNow provided the breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for the entire conference. So much food!
P.P.S. My FitBit registered 4.5 miles per day on average while walking. So even with all the great food I didn't gain a bit!
