Subject: Seeking Advice on ServiceNow Internship/Externship Opportunities

Hello ServiceNow Community, 

I'm currently exploring internship/externship opportunities related to ServiceNow and would love to get advice from those with experience in the field. I'm particularly interested in roles that involve ITSM, development, business process analyst, product owner, administration, implementation, or automation. 

I have my Certified System Administrator, Performance Analytics certification, and Flow designer certification, and I’m eager to apply my knowledge in a hands-on setting while learning from industry professionals.  It’s hard to get any employer interest when I don’t have any valid hands-on experience highlighting success with an employer.  I’m looking for a way to get a foot in the door and willing to relocate in order to do so.  

I’d appreciate any guidance on: 

• Companies or programs that offer internships/Externships related to ServiceNow 

• Tips on standing out when applying for such roles 

• Recommended skills or certifications to improve my chances 

If anyone has personal experiences or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! Thanks in advance for your help.

Greetings!!

I appreciate the details you've shared, but I believe the market has evolved. The demand for ServiceNow (SN) is growing, and it’s no longer just a ticketing tool. ITSM is just a starting point; it's not the entire picture. What I mean is that you need to build your portfolio and start learning other modules like CSM, HRSD, etc. Adding these to your profile, along with hands-on experience, is key.

The community is the best place to learn—training alone won’t help if you don’t actively engage. Start practicing by answering questions on the community; this will expose you to many areas of learning.

Regarding your role, each one has its own journey. If you’re interested in development, learning scripting is essential. But if you want to be a Business Analyst (BA), focus on ServiceNow from the functional side (I’ve been in the same role). You need to decide which path you want to follow.
