1.Credentials less Discovery refers to the ability to discover and populate the cmdb without requiring credentials.
2. It will only populate few values.
3. It will gather information with help of NMAP.
Make sure your mid server is up and validated.
Steps to do Credentials less Discovery
1. Open mid sever and below related link you find option enable credentials less discovery click there
2. It will ask to install NMAP and after few minute it will installed and show installed successfully.
Now do discovery you will see that after discovery is completed only few fields of ci get populated in CMDB table like Name, DNS Domain.
Thank You

NMAP is used to perform network scanning to identify active host , open ports and detect the Operating system and DNS.
How the remaining values get populated..?
For more value populate we will create credentials and do discovery and if you want to populate the value which are not coming through discovery you will use pattern and service mapping as per you need.
If you want to know detailed about NMAP check below link by ServiceNow
Hope I will give answer to your question

Hi Ravi
NMAP means Network Mapper commands with a mid sever to collect some basic information from the CI without using credentials.
Best practice:-
Credentials less discovery should only be used on know subnets where credentials are not viable and should not be used long term.
