Hi All,
What are these 2 tables:
Application Service [cmdb_ci_service_auto]
Mapped Application Service [cmdb_ci_service_discovered]
Which tables to use for what reason?

Hi @Suggy ,
Yes. cmdb_ci_service_discovered is a legacy table that was created several years ago as part of the Service Mapping product. When CSDM was introduced they decided to repurpose the existing table. We can ignore the fact that "discovered" is part of the name, and can manually populate the Application Service table.
Thank you,
Rishikesh

When you top down map an application service, it is changed to the class cmdb_ci_service_discovered. Truth be told, it may still be the default for application services you create manually via the CSDM module, I have not checked but I think that is the case.
All of our manually created ones prior to ITOM were the cmdb_ci_service_discovered class but that may have been a custom practice. Converting them to cmdb_ci_service_auto at the outset of the ITOM project just separated the manually created ones from the ones we will be creating or converting to as we service map. Some of those we created manually, we may want to use tag based or query based as we move forward. Having them as just generic application services lets you know what you have addressed and what you have not. We have 5600ish that we hope to pare down, I'll take any kind assist like that to help.
