Hello All,
We are seeing some CIs without serial number and sub status as "duplicate error" in computer table.
We want to get read of such CIs, and my client agrees to archive them.
Need to know the process of archiving CIs and so they no longer available in computer table.
any guidance will be really helpful.
Regards,
Hanumant

Hello,
You will need to create an archive rule : Create an archive rule
This remove the data from the original table and puts it in an archive table.
To be less specific, you need to look at the Data Archiving module.
All docs are here : Data Archiving docs

Data archiving is not recommended for the CMDB. There are a lot of related CIs that won't get captured and will be orphaned with this approach. Please look into CMDB Data manager.

Hi, Servicenow introduced CMDB data manager where you can define policies to archive or delete the CI’s in bulk. This is the recommended and easy to maintain approach to perform lifecycle management on configuration items. Please find the documentation below https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-servicenow-platform/page/product/configuration-management/co... Hope this helps.

Since essentially you have duplicated CIs in CMDB, I recommend to also run "Duplicate CI Remediator" that will delete or retire the incomplete duplicated CIs.
