Benefit Analysis of current tools vs Servicenow CMDB Discovery

Just needing some assistance on how to gather the right details to help the business make the right decision
We currently use Legacy Servicenow Express manual loading CMDB CIs from the use of the current tools

VMware Aria

Tenable

Ms Defender

SCCM

Intune


As we are replatforming there was questions asked if we needed discovery at all (as there is a large cost) so our architect raised we need to do some benefit analysis.

Im super new to CMDB and discovery tools, just wondering if these are the right questions to ask

Rough Cost of tools per year?

Rough Cost of Time / Support + Maintenance per year

Estimated amount of BAU hours spent on the tools

Benefits/Gaps of the Tool e.g. aria needs scripting and coding resource to maintain and develop


Am I going in the right direction?

Great start.  All cost benefit analyses attempt to capture all sources of time and money.
Only thing I'll add is the best CBAs also compare against current.
Be mindful of what you may be able to replace.
