Connecting Discovered Application Services Across Service Maps

Hello Community,

I have a question regarding Service Mapping. When Discovery creates application services and generates their respective service maps, is there a way to connect one discovered application service to another within a single service map?

For example, if I have two application services discovered separately, can I link them so that dependencies between them are visible in one consolidated map? Is there any way in the service map to call the other map or link them?

Looking forward to guidance on best practices for connecting or consolidating discovered application services into a unified service map.

Thanks,

Hi @Pranita Bahugun

Yes, you can link one Application Service to another. You do not need to "re-discover" the second service; you simply include it as a component of the first.

Please follow given steps:

  1. Open the map for the "Parent" Application Service.

  2. Change to Edit Mode.

  3. Right-click the CI (node) that connects to the other service and select Add Connection (or Add CI depending on your version).

  4. In the CI Class selector, choose Application Service [cmdb_ci_service_discovered].

  5. Search for and select your second "Child" Application Service.

The second Application Service will appear as a single node on the parent map. If you double-click that node, it will drill down and open the map for that child service.

Please try this and lemme know if this works for you or not!
