Correlation ID does not get set up by Discovery

Hi Community

I need some insights on how correlation ID works on cmdb_ci.... Do this come from discovery execution? I am seeing when I run it does not set any correlation ID so it always goes with the other identifiers ( Serial number and/or name)

Your advice will be great on this.

The Correlation ID is not updated by Discovery.  It is typically used for integrating third-party systems per community article: Good Practices — Integrations for Customer Service Management

Correlation ID

All of the ServiceNow tables include "correlation ID" and "correlation Display" fields. These fields should be used while integrating the third-party system with ServiceNow to store external system ID. correlation ID field should be used to prevent data duplication.

my client wants the correlation id and object id to be populated for windows server which is hosted on aws

Correlation ID identifier comes with SCCM integration. It uses correlation ID as the unique identifier.
