I have credential affinity records that haven't been updates since our ServiceNow instance went live in 2014.
How often do people age out affinity records? Is there a ServiceNow Best Practice guide on this?

Hi Philips,
I would like to know whether you have made any changes in the credentials after your instance went live?
Because when credentials for a device changes, Discovery and Orchestration try all available credentials again until they create a new affinity. So if you made any changes in the credentials then affinity table is updated with new affinity and if not then no changes will be made.
Please refer below link for more information:
>>https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/jakarta-servicenow-platform/page/administer/orchestration-activities/concept/c_AssignCredsOrchActivities.html
For troubleshooting purpose refer below link:

Please hit Helpful/correct if you find above information needful/helpful.

Hi philipscherry,
Have you checked in 'dscy_credentials_affinity' table ,because when First time Discovery and Orchestration tries to access the device, they check the all credentials... until get valid credential..,when they find valid credential updates into 'dscy_credentials_affinity' table, and continues all the discovery with the information it gets from this table.
Again if credentials change or modified again same process will execute till get valid credential and update into same table.
i hope you will get information into the same table.
for more details follow the link
if helpful mark it correct or helpful.
Regards,
Varsha.

Really there isn't if there have been no updates then you may just have your credentials locked down... But if you want to just have piece of mind there's no real harm in cleaning out the table and refreshing it.. just know we will go through the cycle of credentials till we can build that affinity again!
