Dashboard and Widget permission issue

Hi All,

I have created 2 users called test1 and test2.

Test1 is having evt_mgmt_operator role and test2 is having dashboard_admin and evt_mgmt_operator role.

I have created 1 dashboard and 1 report widget ( in that Dashboard ) under Test1 user and shared it to Test2 user. When we tried to impersonate it to Test2 , we can not view the report in that widgets and it is showing "Report visible only to a specific user or group".

Kindly let me know, whether do we need to update any role / ACL on  test1 user to  share the Dashboards and widgets to other users.

Regards,

Yokesh

Anil,

We have resolved it after we added the report_group, report_user role to that user.

Can you please share how they have configured widget? As they are getting error for report then I am sure there is report configured and user don't have access to see that report.

Thanks,

Hi,

As an admin you can open dashboard and try to configure the dashboard. Click on Edit content and it will open associated report.

User need to share that Report with another user.

Hi Anil,

We have already provided the above mentioned solution. But client wants to share it through the test1 user since that user is owner of that dashboard, widgets/reports.

Hi,

In that case you need to contact owner of Report and ask him to share that report with another widget. Its a matter of mutual understanding and if the user has shared dashboard then they need to share reports as well.

If user is Test1 is not aware of which report to share then you can share link of report which is configured on dashboard.

Thanks,

Anil Lande

Hi Anil,

The owner ( test1 user ) does not have a permission to share the report at all. Let me know how we can give that privilege/role/ACL to that particular user to share that report.
