Discover Aruba Wireless Access Points via SNMP

Hello,

I've been asked to populate our Wireless Access Points into the CMDB. I know that we could connect via API and fetch data from the controllers, but the network team is actively migrating to new Cloud based controllers. Because of this and other reasons, I'd rather discover the on-prem WAP devices via SNMP. We have enabled SNMP on the these devices and I added an SNMP OID Classification (1.3.6.1.4.1.14823.1.2.86) which is using the "Standard Network Switch" Classifier. It is working. However, it is placing the CI in the Network switch table cmdb_ci_ip_switch and I want them in the cmdb_ci_wap_network table. Additionally, it is only fetching bare miniumum attributes and is missing serial number and some others. These are Aruba 305 models and we have thousands of them. Anyone out there have experiance with finding a solution to this?

You would want to create a new SNMP classifier and pattern to gather the attributes you want. This can help walk you through the process..

And I trust you've seen what we do for WAPs OOB...
