Discovering IP Phones (Avaya)

Hello,

Has anyone had success discovering IP phones? Specifically Avaya IP Phones. I have searched all over and have found that I need to create a new probe, sensor, and classifier but no info on how they need to be configured.

Yes, you need to build an SNMP Classifier for this. If you have the SNMP credentials available for the given IP Phones you can run a discovery on the IP phone so that SNMP - Classify is able to run.

Take a look at the OID returned during the classification stage in the SNMP - Classify input probe. Once you will have the OID value you can build a classifier using the device OID and any other attribute you might want to collect.

It doesn't even run snmp - classify. I did a test on the snmp - classify probe and the input errors and returns 0 OID's. See attachments

Hi, If you ask me i did it in other way. We created other integration not discovery for this. We did it using rest and soap. This was done for Cisco IP phones. Thanks, Ashutosh
