Discovery account getting locked out frequently

we have used the service account for discovering the following VMware,mssql_instance,exchange_mailbox,F5 SSH everyday account gets locked out unable to figure out through discovery logs which server is causing the lockout.

Service Accounts typically get locked at the target devices that is the server or servers the account is attempting to scan. These targets usually has policy that an account is not allowed to be logged in after a particular number of unsuccessful attempts.
When you say your service account is getting locked out do you mean that it is not able to scan any device or is not able to scan certain devices if only certain then what I said in the paragraph 1 applies and you would need to talk to your server admin to get the id unlocked. Discovery logs would typically not show this apart from saying that the access to server is denied. This kind of information gets logged at the server level logs and not in the discovery logs.
If your service account is locked altogether and is not able to login to any device then you need to contact your active directory administrator to check about the problems with service account.

I am facing a similar issue with our windows service account. The account gets locked and as per policy it gets unlocked after 15mins.
Unable to understand why the account is locked. Upon checking with AD team they say it’s because of bad password. The password is configured in credentials record hence if it’s incorrect the discovery should fail always, which is not the case. How is authentication failing sometimes causing the account to lock? Is it an issue with the AD account or target device?

You may have a rule that after 3 or 5 login attempts log the account can you check that as well?

let me check with AD team on where its getting locked out and get back to discovery logs for the same and sort it out if its permission issue thanks
