Hi All,
I am getting "Authentication Failure" while clicking on "Test Credential" in Discovery, even though the username and pwd i gave are correct.
There is no domain exists here. Also I tried by prefixing ".\" before the username, that also didn't work.
How to overcome this issue?
Is there a way to trace the logs? If so, how ?
Please let me know your thoughts!
Thanks,
Ram

I think you can check the Application logs from the event viewer to check why authentication is failing.
If there is no domain have you disabled UAC on these machines as that may cause issue on workgroup computers.

Hi,
I checked ECC Queue and can see the below msg from the payload:
"Adding target to blacklist. No valid credential found for type [Windows]".
Thanks,
Ram

This error also says that credential has failed and has been blacklisted. You can validate that the credential is correct by performing a WMI connectivity test from the MID Server to the target host. Below is a reference on internet on how to perform WMI testing.

I have found test credential to be occasionally quirky where the "Test Credential" comes back with a failure, but the QUick Discovery is successful. If this is for discovery, I'd recommend giving that a try as well.
