Discovery capability for a hybrid VMWare Cloud on AWS (SDDC)?

We have recently started leveraging VMware Cloud on AWS for our Software Defined Data Center environment.  We normally leverage Discovery to discovery the VMWare vCenter details and it works great.  However we are not able to complete the discovery process on the VMware VMC environment.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi phil/Toff,

The other method is to run a VMWare cloud schedule. This doesn't run into the same shazaam/port block issue for VMWare on AWS that running a standard IP-based scan does. I've been able to run a discovery scan successfully on our VMWare on AWS environment without the changes phil has had to make, just a properly authorized credential.

The issue it DOES have however is that it runs the probes/patterns on any mid server, not just the mid servers you have configured with the vmware capability. Thankfully that issue is fixed in Rome Patch 8 - https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-release-notes/page/release-notes/quality/rome-patch-8.html

Hi David,

If you have documented the steps you have configured for VMware Cloud (AWS).

Can you please share those Steps. unable to locate configuration steps to follow in SNOW documentation.

Thanks,

Anitha.
