Hey Guys,
I have been working in ServiceNow for about a year on the Discovery side, mostly implementing. However, I would like to know. How do other organizations manage Discovery Errors? I have read many posts and it seems to be a common issue. From what I can tell, there are two main tables for error reporting. Discovery Active Errors as seen on the Discovery Dashboard (Dicovery>Dashboard) and Automation Error Messages on Discovery>Home, Errors Panel.
How are other organizations identifying, tracking, and resolving their Discovery Errors? On our Automation Error Messages, we have about 5,000 errors, mostly relating to SNMP config and Credentials. In the Discovery Active Errors, we only have 219, which are mostly relating to application based pattern discovery, (the main CI gets created but it isn't able to complete SSAS or other application-based patterns. Lastly, as these errors are only related to IP based discovery, some of these may be expected especially if you have an integration such as SCCM where the CI is being created by the integration and as such we do not require direct credentials to access the device.
