Discovery Experience with IBM Storage

Hi - Has anyone successfully used (CIM) discovery against the following SAN gear? Any experiences to share?

• IBM V7000
• IBM XIV
• IBM SVC
• IBM Flash 840

SVC Array has been Discovered before, but doesn't display any Storage information. I looked again - it's there but have all the fields blank.

I will review all tomorrow....I will start from zero.

Is that what you get when you click on the word "sensor" in the log message?   It should take you to the sensor itself, not to the CimProbe queue.

Argh.   It looks we're incorrectly escaping the log message.   I'll file a bug for that.

Do you have two "SMI - Storage Server" sensors?   The update scripts I attached modified the sensor with sys_id 6c83623337302000c7608c00dfbe5dda, but the log message is for a sensor with sys_id 3101674e0f1f7904bf51059ce1050eb2.

It sounds like you need to go, and all this talk of beer has made me thirsty .   I don't know if I'll have a chance to check on this over the weekend.   If not I'll get back to you Monday afternoon (PST).

I hope you enjoyed some cold beers I do the same thing (drink some cold beers because   - after 2-3 month of pain - you are the first who give me something to go forward in my struggle to get SVC Discovery Functional and I Thank You!

    However i jump to our development instance, where I updated CIM Classification, SMI - Storage Server with new classification criteria without importing your update set.

I run Discovery for 1 x SVC Cluster after, and I encounter some warnings:

Discovery Logs show me 3 warnings:

I ECC Queue i cannot see any error and everything seems to be OK there:

And in Devices tab i can find:

If i go to details (in devices TAB), i can see the same warnings:

If i go to updated CI i cannot find any Storage related information there:

I will modify payload length and come back with the updates.

If you have some free time this week, please let me know and please let's re-try and have a look what's the differences between my configuration and your configuration. Something it's different between my configuration and your configuration...., and i don't know yet what. So please bear with me !
