Discovery of Veritas NetBackup Appliances

Hi,

Has anyone managed to discover NetBackup appliances before?

We have a requirement to discover them for our CMDB but I'm drawing a blank.

Check the appliance section...you will need credentials in vCenter and ports are open..

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for the link. I don't think this will help as it relates to a plugin to monitor virtual machine backups.

I need a way to for ServiceNow to discover the physical NetBackup appliances on our network and get them in the CMDB.

Did you managed to discover NetBackups. I have also the same requirement but no idea if that is OOB or what exactly we need . Can you please tell me what you did.

Hi,

Yes I did get them discovered and into the CMDB using SNMP. SSH is locked down so was not an option. I had to get port 161 listening on the appliances and using an OID classifier discovered them and classified them as Linux Servers.
