Domain Separation cloing from PROD

We have purchased two instances of servicenow for MSP solution in domain separated environment.DEV and PROD.

We have not touched PROD yet. We want to start RnD work and development kind of things in DEV instance. For that, we will be first doing domain separation setup settings like going into "Domain Admin > Configuration"   and checkbox "use the domain of the record being viewed instaed of user's own" or "use the domain value from the record to determine which client scripts are userd". Also we want to try our hands with domain relationships like contains, visibility settings etc. We are not considering these settings will be final for our PROD instance and hence we wont touch PROD it. Once we are done with our initial hands on on DEV, we want to clone it from PROD which is a untouched instace with domain separation plugins installed.

Now question is, if we do something horribly wrong in DEV instance, then do we have provision to clone it from PROD instance which is instance with Domain separation plugins installed and no domain configuration has been done in that. If we do the cloning, will we be able to configure settings like   going in to "Domain Admin > Configuration"   and then selecting either   "use the domain of the record being viewed instaed of user's own" or "use the domain value from the record to determine which client scripts are userd". Is it possible to strart from the scratch in the DEV instance after cloning?

I am aware with single standalone server procedure but Domain separation cloning is new thing to me.

Clone will in theory provide you the exact copy of the prod .. Except for the tables mentioned in 'Exclude tables'

Thank you Kalaiarasan for reply.

Yes, we know it, but we are more concerned about domain settings. We want to know whether we will be able to configure domain settings as well after cloning from PROD.

It's just a copy of prod after clone .. So I dont think there will be an issue in reconfiguring ...
