Full horizontal discovery of servers in service map during service mapping discovery

Hello Everyone,

 

I understand that during service mapping discovery, ServiceNow does not run full horizontal discovery on CIs(mainly windows and Linux) which are present in service map. Correct me if this is wrong understanding.

 

I have a requirement where I want to run the Linux and Windows server discovery during my service mapping discovery for servers which are present in Service Map in order to udpate some fields on Server table.

 

Is this possible? what are the best recommended approaches.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Hanumant Madan1 ,

 

Thats not possible, Service Mapping discovery running on Vertical way hence Discovery running to capture the Horizontal Data, Hence you must need to run the Normal Discovery to make CI up to date and then your Service Mapping Discovery will trigger to update vertical part of CI and Relationship,
