Hello,
We are currently evaluating ServiceNow Discovery for Oracle Exadata / ZFS Rack infrastructure and wanted to check if anyone here has successfully discovered the following components using SSH and/or SNMP, either out-of-the-box or with custom patterns.
Cell Storage Server
Admin Switch
RoCE Leaf Switch
ZFS Controller
ZFS Disk Tray
Top-of-Rack (TOR) Switch
Specifically, we are interested in understanding:
Whether any of these are discoverable OOB with ServiceNow Discovery
If not, whether custom SSH or SNMP patterns were used successfully
What CI classes were used or extended (custom vs existing)
Any limitations encountered (credentials, MIB support, APIs, etc.)
We are aware that Discovery can pick up underlying Linux servers and Oracle DB instances, but we’re trying to understand real-world experiences around discovering the engineered system components (storage, controllers, switches) and modeling them properly in CMDB.
Thank you,
Praveen
