Hi experts,
!!!Urgent solution required!!!
We have the new project coming up soon for AWS and GCP, and I got the duty to discover resources over AWS and Google cloud.
Unfortunately, people of aws and GCP people don't have idea of servicenow so I need to dictate them.
1) How many VM we need to install mid server in other word how many mid server do we required for discovery.
2) Can we use "suppose role" option for google cloud like we have in aws.
3) Can cloud API discover all resource or for VM discovery we need to select IP base discovery during cloud schedule creation.

Hi,
As far as I know, we need 1 Mid Server for 10000 CI's. If you have more CI's we may need more Mid Servers.
Please make sure you install Mid Server where it can access all or most of the devices' information within the network.
Please wait for other answers

Hi
the answer depends on the overall time you are willing to accept. At https://www.servicenow.com/content/dam/servicenow-assets/public/en-us/doc-type/excel/midserver-plann... you can download a simple Excel file where the estimated time is calculated based on the number of MID servers you have. I suppose that the number of 10000 CIs (given by other user here) comes from that file but it just says that having only MID server it takes the estimated time.
Unfortunately that Excel file does not consider clouds resources and I don't know any other calculation sheet.
One important hint
Never touch the number of used threads in a MID server configuration. In one project of mine we did that mistake and it took weeks to find out why discovery was failing.
