In Service Now UI, Can we assign manager for a user? Or will it only get the manager information through LDAP only?

Is the manager present as a user in ServiceNow? IF yes, you can assign a manager to the user by navigating to user administration>users and selecting a user as a manager in the manager reference field.

Users are assigned to a Group. The Group will have a Manager. Make sure you are elevated to security_admin role.
