How to handle duplicates in core company table before implementing NDS

Hello All,

We are planning to implement Company Normalisation through NDS. Currently, the Core Company table has several duplicates (name duplicates). These duplicate names are already in use across several classes in CMDB.

Based on the testing in lower environments, only one of these duplicate company records is getting normalized. So, even after normalization, the existing CI records that reference the duplicate company records continue to point to non-normalized company value.

Could you suggest the best approach to handle the duplicates in company table and the recommended way to update the existing CIs, so they reference the correct, with non-duplicated value.

@Kalyani7  Check this link on configuring Identification rules for non-CMDB tables. This might help you.

Thank you for your response. But looks like this is not applicable for company table as of now.

@Kalyani7  There is a plugin in Servicenow, which gives OOB list of companies for normalization and also you can add if you want new ones.

Please go through this video and hope that helps.
