How to integrate with VMware vcenter

Hi all,

I need to bring all virtual machine (VM) data into our ServiceNow (SNOW) instance.

Initially, I was provided with an Excel sheet containing a list of VMs and asked to import that data into ServiceNow. However, I'm unsure whether to use the cmdb_ci_vm_instance or cmdb_ci_vcenter table for this import. Additionally, I noticed that some fields in the Excel sheet are missing from the corresponding ServiceNow table, so I assume we’ll need to create custom fields and use Transform Maps for the import.

Later, it was mentioned that manually providing VM data each time is not ideal. Instead, I was asked to integrate vCenter with ServiceNow so that whenever a new VM is created in vCenter, it automatically gets created in ServiceNow.

I’m not familiar with how to set up this integration. I’ve been informed that a MID Server is already installed in the data center where vCenter resides.

Could someone please guide me through the integration process or share relevant documentation?

Thank you!
