HTTPClassyProbe , whats this probe

Hi,

When I am running a discovery against a IP, I see below logs:

Whats that HTTPClassyProbe  ? Error message: Active, couldn't classify

HI,

This are probes which use basic authentication rather than SNMP Credentails or SSH Credentials.

When you SNMP Classifier probe fails then HTTP Classy Probe is used to gather information using REST Calls and HTTP protocols.

So what use is it if you have no Basic Credentials? IF you did have any what specifically would it discover by default ?
