Hi All,
We wanted to migrate from legacy probe based discovery to pattern based discovery(only for windows server migration).
Could you please let us know Impact and also what are the changes we can observe after post migration?
Regards,
Pavan

Hello @pavan garige
1)There shouldn't be any issue technical aspect wise - because Patterns run in"Indentification and Exploration" phases of discovery and alongside there is also "Shazzam probes" and "Port Probes" running.
2)Pattern is more accurate than probes in relationship discovery and everything. In addition to supporting all standard discovery, patterns support:
- Cloud discovery
- configuration file tracking
- CI deletion strategies
3) Probes also have a drawback and I would say a huge one - because they create several Queues as so many input output probes. To troubleshoot any issues with horizontal discovery, you must analyze several ECC queue records to see the data that Discovery retrieved. But pattern creates only one queue - which is not only a relief performance wise but otherwise in troubleshooting as well.
4)Patterns automatically have faster performance due to above mentioned reasons and also because it doesn't keeps on launching probes throughout the discovery phases, as mentioned by me in (1) only in two phases.
