Has anybody out there attempted to or have been able to discover an IBM Z/OS Mainframe environment? If so, please can you share your experience ?

Thanks in advance

Abhi,

I use the SSH discovery to discover the virtualized zLinux instances, but not the mainframe itself, so we are looking at IBM TADDM to pull out the data then populate the CMDB using REST.

Not sure if there is an OOB SN solution.

Take care,
Jeff

HI Jeff:

Did you also import ZVM lpar, region and CICS also from TADDM? What SNOW classes did you use for these types of CIs?

I see a prior response mentioned TADDM from IBM. Depending on the purpose of discovery, TADDM can provide CI details as well as CI intersection/ relationships with deep scanning. If the intent is to provide software asset data for licensing and financial then TADfZ would be a better avenue.
