Hi All,
While implementing Event Management, we have noticed that the impacted services are not getting populated unless we have Service mapping enabled and we don't have it. Can someone point us to the right script which populates the impacted services on the alert form? We want to update this logic so it takes impacted services using the BSM map rather than the Service Map.
Happy to share further details if the above doesn't help.
Thanks
Harneet

No its not possible - not without enabling Service Mapping (which is a paid plugin).

Hi Harneet,
The feature you are looking for is only available with Service Mapping. Once enabled - and application services are discovered, you'll see the Impacted Services on the Alert form populated. Also when going to the Dependency View (what you are calling the BSM Map)... once that map is drawn, we check the svc_ci_assoc table for the relationships data - then populated the Related Services.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Hi Ryan,
Very helpful, thanks.
Is there a way we can modify the logic to populate impacted services without Service mapping? Maybe customize the scripts or any other method other customers use to the impacted services populated, probably the same logic as incident and change? If so, can you please point us to the script/table where we can make amendments to make this work?
Thanks,
Harneet

Hi @Ryan Zulli,
I have a similar issue. We've Service Mapping. I uploaded demo data. I'm generating (from Postman) an event. It's Ok. The event generates an alert. It's OK. The CI was bound. But the impacted services are empty.
Do you have a starting troubleshooting point that I can explore?
Thanks for your time and support,
Ariel
