Is it oK to have multiple VM MID Servers on different OS versions running at the same time?

My question:

Does anyone have a MID Server environment where they are running multiple physical servers (VMs in my case) on different OSs (e.g. some Windows 2012 and some Windows 2022) with clustered MID Servers?

Why am I asking:

We are upgrading our MID Server VMs from Windows 2012 to Windows 2022.  We have 6 Windows 2012 VMs in PROD and are building 6 new VMs with Windows 2022 to replace them.  The 6 are clustered.  When we deploy the new servers to PROD (we are using the same MID Server sys_ids to keep the same MID Servers on the instance) I want to bring down only half of the old ones and bring up half of the new ones to replace the old.  This way if there is an issue I can just turn off the new ones and still have the old 3 running and bring back up the old 3.

Thanks.

Hi @bjonesy,

That shouldn't be an issue as long as you have the capabilities configured correctly.
We have this situation with one of our clients, which works just fine.
