Why do you want to discover a SaaS application? The added value of SaaS is, that you do not have to manage the infrastructure. So what would you like to achieve with the discovery of it?
In my understanding you just create application services and map it to your business/technical services+offerings and to your business application. But a discovery of underlying infrastructure wouldn't make sense, because you do not have the ownership and responsibility for such.

+1 very precise answer.
if you have SAAS based application then WHY to worry about underlying Components.
URL of salesforce should be UP and running as per Your Contractual SLA.
You can make an application CI corresponding to SAAS - SalesForce and use it.

This is an old thread, but I think one of the use cases, is not to monitor the infrasturcture, but certain configuration parameters and code to ensure there is no update being done outside the change management. For my case, I want to do scanning/discovery on selected CI as part of the change to ensure to update CMDB as authorized change, but when scheduled discovery/scanning and auditing of CI start and there is discrepancies this need to trigger unauthorized change.

I understand the answer and agree. I do have a question as to how to identify this application service as external or SAAS. We are considering adding a choice to the environment field to reflect external. Looking to see how others handle.
Thanks in advance.
