or

Thanks for sharing your inputs @AJ-TechTrek
Even I use the same - I mean I set to 'All'
The purpose of asking this question is because, I have come across many videos and articles from ServiceNow where they say - 'We recommend you to choose the required capabilities for Discovery and Service Mapping'

Hey Suggy!
If you're using the MID Server exclusively for Discovery and Service Mapping, then it's actually best practice to assign only the relevant capabilities, rather than leaving it as "ALL." That said, Discovery and Service Mapping require many capabilities (like SSH, WMIetc.), so if you’re not 100% sure which ones are needed or if you're just getting started, leaving it as ALL is totally fine — it won’t cause issues, and you don't accidentally miss a required capability. Once your setup is more mature, you can refine the capabilities based on what's actually being used in your environment. Hope that helps!
If this helps kindly accept the answer thanks much.

Hey @Its_Azar thanks for replying. Which approach had you taken - ALL or did you set specific capabilities?
If its specific capabilities, can you share the details as to how did you determine which capabilities were needed in your case

Sure @Suggy
in the early stages, I kept it as ALL to avoid missing any key capabilities during initial discovery and service mapping runs. Once the environment stabilized and I had a better view of which protocols and technologies were actually in use (via discovery logs and MID Server audit logs), I trimmed it down to specific capabilities like SSH, WMI etc., based on what targets required. This helped reduce noise and made MID assignment more efficient. i would advice the same.
If this helps kindly accept the solution thanks/

Great to hear that @Its_Azar
Can you tell how it really helped and made a difference by assigning only specific capabilities?
You also mentioned that it helped reduce noise.
Any insights on that would be really helpful.
Thanks!
