I do not think that cmdb_ci_comm is the most approppriate CMDB class for mobile phones (or tablets).
It is a piece of hardware and should be in a table under the hardware branch IMHO.
But I see your point that it is a communication device, and not a handheld computing device. Smartphones are more used as a computer than to talk. So I would vote for placing them in the handheld device class.
