Issue with Credential Validation in Discovery Fundamentals On Demand (Module 4)

Hello,

I am currently taking the Discovery Fundamentals On Demand course.
In Module 4: Credentials and Probes, Task: Create Credentials, I am experiencing issues when testing the provided credentials.

Steps I followed:

  1. Created Windows Credentials with the following values:

    • Type: Windows Credentials

    • Name: Windows Servers

    • User name: workgroup\administrator

    • Password: 1G00dDemo

    • Test target: 198.51.12.119

    → Result: “Authentication failed”

  2. Created Linux Credentials with the following values:

    • Type: SSH Credential

    • Name: Linux Servers

    • User name: disco

    • Password: Rdisco01

    • Test target: 198.51.188.74

→ Result: “Could not connect to specified port”

Troubleshooting I have already tried:

  • Re-entered credentials manually (checked case sensitivity and backslash format).

  • Retried on both personal and corporate PCs, also in private/incognito browser mode.

  • Restarted and relaunched the lab environment.

However, the issue persists and I cannot proceed to the next tasks.

Could you please confirm if there is an issue with the lab environment for Module 4, or advise how I should continue?

@昭彦古  They are working fine for my lab instance, but the credentials mentioned are very different from you (this might depend on region).

All I can suggest is to try changing the user name to 'administrator' instead of 'workgroup\administrator'.  Else, submit a Case on the Servicenow University, stating the problem.

My lab creds are:

Windows Credential:

Type: Windows Credentials

Name: Windows Servers

User name: itomadmin

Password: Disco2learn4fun@1!

Save and then Test the credential against: 192.168.16.11

SSH Credential:

Type: SSH Credential

Name: Linux Servers

User name: itomadmin

Password: LinuxDisco4Fun@1!

Save and then Test the credential against: 192.168.16.12

Hi @昭彦古 ,

As per my understanding, the provided credentials should be correct. If not, could you please share the Now Learning course details and the link to the course you are referring to?

When I search for the Now Learning course details to share the link, the “Start” button appears even though I am already enrolled.
The course I am currently taking may be outdated.
The course name is Discovery Fundamentals On Demand [Japanese].

@昭彦古 The "Start" button will appear, if you are looking at the same course but built for different version of the Servicenow.

Example, I finished 'Discovery Fundamental on Demand' few months back on Vancouver and now the same course is on 'Yokomaha'. Now, it shows "Start" or "Resume", though we had already completed that course. Attached Screenshot for your reference.

But this will not affect you to get the Voucher or taking the exam. Just do the course in one version.
