Issues with ACC-V D Discovery Running Software MS SQL DB

The ACC-V appliance has been successfully discovering running software on Windows hosts. However, over the past few months, it has intermittently stopped discovering the Microsoft SQL Server database instances on some Windows hosts, while it continues to work as expected on others.

Initial Investigation Summary

Agent Communication and Updates

The affected servers are receiving updates through ACC-V. I verified several Windows servers running MS SQL Server: some are updating database discovery correctly, while others are not.

Agent Status and Data Collection

The agent status on the problematic hosts shows as Up, and Host Data Collection is marked as Collected, indicating that basic communication and data retrieval are functioning.

Test Checks Performed

I executed the Test Check on both types of hosts—those where MSSQL database updates are occurring and those where they are not—to compare behavior and identify discrepancies.

What about the Application Pattern Logs? Do you see any error messages.

Hello @VinjiPrak,

Can you check the payload from the ECC queue once you collect the host data, also the host data collection alone will not get you software installations, check whether your checks under the agent do have the Software Installation check listed. You can post the Screenshot of Checks.

Regards,

Parag
