Hi All,
I am having difficulty in understanding why the Virtual Machine Instance [cmdb_ci_vm_instance] CI class is categorized under Servers in the ITOM Licensing Category. Due to this, our ITOM license count has gone up.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? What is the solution here? Do we need to exclude these VMs from the discovery schedule?

Hi @Naushad1 , This is the correct way of counting licenses. VM instances get created via cloud and vCenter discovery, but if you perform IP based discovery for same VMs a related host gets created in Server table. But it will still count it as 1 license.
For better understanding on VM instance and Host VM you can refer this article : https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0864549
For understanding the ITOM licenses you can refer this article : https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB1000863
Thanks.
