Does ServiceNow provide a list of what they consider to be physical and virtual servers?

The reason I ask is because I understand thats how Discovery is licensed and I want to see how many we have.

On the first link, yes that looks all in line. For the second the only hitch I see there is 'windows discovery'. Server OS's are absolutely included but desktops are dropped in above cmdb_ci_server into cmdb_ci_computer so they would not count.

it's basically anything that extends from cmdb_ci_server regardless of its virtual state that was created or updated by servicenow discovery in the past 90 days of the contract period...

Fairly this is my understanding, for your actual contractual agreements, have this conversation with your Account manager for the most relevant of licensing information for your company.

Thanks for the response Doug. I looked and the product documentation and found https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-platform-administration/page/administer/reference-pages/reference/r_TablesAndClasses.html. Would anything in that list with Server be considered?

Also, I found https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-it-operations-management/page/product/discovery/concept/c_Computers.html. Would that be more accurate?

Awesome, thanks for the insight. This is a great start!
