Manual Service Mapping requirement by Populating application service

I am working on manually mapping application services within our CMDB since Service Mapping is not currently deployed in our instance. Our application services are currently stored in the cmdb_ci_service_auto table, and we want to ensure proper CI Associations for impact analysis in Incident Management and Change Management.

I have read about Calculated Application Services (cmdb_ci_service_calculated) and would like to explore whether this approach would be better suited for automating CI Associations and service visibility compared to the Mapped Application Service (cmdb_ci_service_discovered).

What is the best way to manually map an application service when Service Mapping is not available?

  • Are there recommended steps for ensuring CI Associations are accurately reflected in the svc_ci_assoc table?

I would greatly appreciate insights, best practices that can help streamline manual service mapping and calculated service implementation.

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

Hi, I am also looking for something similar. What approach did you take?
